This is a quite sturdy drill guide and hence, unlike the cheaper wobbly drill guides can actually be used to drill holes with precision. Very good value.

As with all the other Milescraft products I’ve gotten the DrillMate was well packaged and had all components… Assembly was 5-10 minutes tops even though the instructions are more a pictorial guide than instructions… I found the handle was more than adequate for my initial project but did try clamping and that is also an option… The spindle turns very easily with no wobble or slack.. Chuck worked as it should and didn’t slip… I had to remove the spring as I needed the chuck to go to the workpiece due to the tool I had… The spring stops the chuck level with the top of the baseplate…
I was very pleased with my first job outcome and look forward to many more..

This is a quite sturdy drill guide and hence, unlike the cheaper wobbly drill guides can actually be used to drill holes with precision. Very good value.
One feature that would add lot if additional value is to offer an edge guide accessory.
I Just received The Drillmate 1318 about an hour ago and I started to play around with it.
1: It is almost a the perfect tool accessory that helped me drill a hole in a straight downward angle.
2: Even drilling a hole into a pipes and wooden dowels without even the bit slipping
3: with the design of the base, I can drill a center.
The Drillmate 1318 is awesome.
However there is one slight hiccup though.
The DM-1318 should have an upgraded model that is equipped with a 1/2 chuck instead of a 3/8 chuck.
I had to use a 1/2 chuck adapter to attach it to the one on the Drive-Head but unfortunately it leaves very little wiggle-room to attach a drill bit to work on the material.
