The standard length of hose that is included with the DustRouter is 22 inches.
I think every woodworker knows that good dust collection is worth its weight in gold in your shop, and a router is one of those tools that produces a lot of dust and sends it flying in all directions. The Dust Router is the answer to this problem. Installation and setup are very easy, and it comes with very clear and concise instructions. I have a router lift in my router table and it was still a breeze to install. The only reason I did not give this product 5 starts though is that the installation asks you to drill into your router lift to attach the dust collector to the underside of the router lift. I invested a lot of money in my router lift and did not want to drill holes into it. Maybe Milescraft could look into some other method to attach the dust collector. That being said this Dust Router works amazing, It not only contains all the dust but it sucks all the dust away beautifully with no clogs. Yet another Milescraft product that I would highly recommend to anyone.
DustRouter is a kit which enables you to collect dust from the router mounted on the table. Dust collection happens at two points near the router bit. One point is underneath the router bit. Rubbery cup encompasses the router bit from all sides and sticks to the velcro attached just under the table top. This way very little dust has a chance to fall down. The other point is on the fence which means that most of the dust above the table will also be collected. Indeed it works very efficiently and actually this simple accessory exceeded my expectations.
Before I received this product I had two concerns. One was about the the access to the router’s collet. I was afraid that replacing bits will be more difficult after installing DustRouter. I was wrong. It is still very easy to reach the collet with a wrenches. Another concern was with the size of the ports. I was very pleased to find out that it fits perfectly with 2.5″ Ridgid shop vac which I am using.
Installation was fast and easy with provided instruction and illustrations on the box. It is also priced quite right. Used materials seemed sturdy and adequate. I am sure it will serve me for years. I highly recommend this product.
